Stop The Use Of Deadly Wildlife Poisons

After traveling more than 1,000 miles from her Montana home, a female wolf from the Mill Creek pack (known as 314F), met a horrific fate in Colorado -- illegally poisoned by the deadly Compound 1080.

Plagued with convulsions, dizziness and unbearable pain, her journey ended in a terrible death on a lonely Colorado road.

But sadly, she is not alone. Compound 1080 -- one of the most lethal toxins known to humankind -- and sodium cyanide collectively kill thousands of coyotes every year. And often, these deadly poisons don't reach their intended targets, killing imperiled wildlife -- and even domestic dogs -- instead. Compound 1080 -- so dangerous, it is classified as a chemical weapon in several countries.

EPA is deciding whether to allow the continued use of these deadly chemicals to kill wildlife.

End Aerial Hunting Before Its Too Late

Some people just do this for the thrill of watching something die a slow, painful death. Others, though, have a reason which seems just as idiotic, they want the wolves to stop hunting moose and caribou so that they could hunt them.

These people get in a slow, low flying aircraft and target a wolf. They do this in the winter so the wolves would be easier to track. They get close enough and a gunner shoots at the wolf. They do this until the wolf can't stand, then they land and shoot the wolf. It’s a very slow process and very painful to the wolf.

If you really stop to think about it, wolves are almost the same as us. They have the same characteristics. If we all keep things the way they are then these creatures will go extinct.

If you still aren't convinced then put yourself in a wolf's position. Imagine that you’re in a snow covered opening with hardly any trees in sight. Then you hear a strange motor sound. You start running away but the strange thing is catching up to you. Out of nowhere a loud sound hits your ears and you’re in agony. You still try to run thinking of your pack that you can't leave then the same sound comes. This continues again and again, most bullets miss but the ones that hit send pure agony through your body until you collapse. The creatures come forth and you are powerless to stop the final blow. So now think of it, do you want anything to suffer like that?

Protect the strength of endangered species act

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is America's bedrock conservation law. But this invaluable act could be weakened if we let anti-wolf legislation remove Northern Rockies gray wolves from the ESA.

Never before has Congress targeted one specific species for removal from the ESA in such a reckless manner.

Excluding gray wolves from these protections would threaten the foundation of the ESA and mean death for hundreds of wolves. Northern Rockies wolves be beyond the reach of ESA protections forever and we would have no ability to petition for these protections in the future, no matter how threatened wolves become. Only the Interior Secretary, at his sole discretion, would have the power to petition for ESA protections for wolves.

Tell Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to keep Northern Rockies wolves under Endangered Species Act protections and guard the strength of the ESA.
