Real life Tom & Jerry

The pictures were taken by amateur photographer Bill McIntosh.

The 81-year-old said: 'When I first saw the cat I thought it had a bird in its mouth, but when I got closer to it, I could see it was a mouse. The cat was playing with it, running up and down trees, catching it in its claws and letting go. Eventually the mouse was exhausted - as you can see in the picture - and had a rest.'

He said: 'The cat was occasionally looking at the mouse and then looking away as if to make the mouse think it had forgotten about it. Then the mouse would run away and the cat would catch it in its claws again. I left them playing together. I have no idea if the cat ate the mouse. I like to think it didn't.'

Cat Survived Earthquake and Reunited with Family

A woman returned to her house that was devastated by the earthquake and tsunami to look for her cat.

She was shocked by the damage in the house as she was rummaging through the rubble. While she was talking to the reporter, a miracle happened. Her cat came out from the stairs and started meowing.

Non-non the cat was hiding upstairs when the tsunami hit. The little one survived.

Though the kitty was still a little shaking and overwhelmed by the whole disaster and afraid to come back downstairs, it was absolutely heart-warming and hopeful to know that Non-non made it safe.

Smokey’s purr is nosier than a lawnmower

Pet cat Smokey is believed to have the loudest purr in the world - producing powerful rumbles as loud as a LAWNMOWER. Well it my sound unbelievable but anything is possible in this world.

'She has always been very vocal and purrs at some level nearly all the time,' said Ruth, from Pitsford, Northampton.

'She even manages to purr while she eats. The only time she is quiet is when she is asleep.

Charlie found a new home!

Charlie is a 14 year old cat & he scared people off, thanks to his appearance. I hate to say it but people call him ugly cause of this uncanny resemblance. He looked too much like Harry Potter villain Voldemort but the good news is that he has found a new home.

Vets had removed both his ears and nose in a bid to clear him of skin cancer. The operation had been a success, but Charlie’s uncanny resemblance to that evil character which is played by Ralph Fiennes scared almost everyone.

This sounds like a fairy tale but Harry Potter fan Sarah Gaden was just one of thousands of people who fell in love with Charlie after reading his heart-wrenching story. And the 45-year-old property lawyer was the first one to contact the centre to adopt him.

So now Charlie has a new loving owner who is not at all scared of his look.

I think the word ugly should only be used for evil humans who deliberately harm others & play games without any fucking reason just to hurt another being. I don’t think any animal would deliberately like to hurt anyone. I didn’t like it when I read about Charlie being referred as ugly cat a number of times.

Larry – official rat catcher of Downing Street

Larry is a white tabby tom. He’s 4 year old. Not much is know about him except that he was rescued in January & then he was neutered.

Downing Street asked for a friendly cat to deal with rats in the buildings.

Battersea staff described him as lively, confident and sociable, with ‘a strong predatory drive’. Kirsty Walker, head of cats, added: ‘I can definitely see Larry holding his own.’

Last night correspondents purporting to be Larry – and the rats – were busy sending Twitter updates.

Filipina Model Stars in New Spay-and-Neuter Ad!

Appearing with Rover, a dog who was abandoned at the Philippine Animal Welfare Society’s animal shelter, Garcia is asking responsible guardians everywhere to take a bite out of the overpopulation problem by getting their dogs fixed.

There are countless dogs and cats on the street, and they’re all vulnerable to injury, starvation, disease, and an early death. The sad truth? As long as people continue to let their dogs and cats breed—and as long as they keep buying animals from pet stores—many, many animals will face death at a young age.

Saving dogs and cats in animal shelters is as easy as pledging to spay or neuter your animal companions and to adopt animals from shelters instead of buying them from breeders or pet stores!

A lot of people think it’s cruelty on the part of humans to get animals spayed & neutered, but it’s not so. If you can’t adopt any stray & you only get one animal fixed, you have no idea how many lives you have saved. There are so many animal lovers out there…if you just provide home to one stray, I believe it will make a big difference in the long run.
