Little Knut

Knut the poser was a favorite of the media and Zoo
A grown up Knut

Knut, the famous polar bear of the Berlin Zoo is died yesterday. He became an international star when his mother abandoned him and he was raised by his Berlin zoo keeper.

Knut was only four years old and the cause of his death has not been revealed. He was the first bear to be born in captivity in the zoo for 30 years. The first time media saw him was in 2007 and he became a major attraction for media and animal lovers.

He became a star over night when an animal activist said he should have been put down after he and his brother (who died later) were rejected by their mother following their birth in December, 2006. He was so popular that he ended up generating millions of dollars for the Berlin Zoo.

Thomas Doerflein took care of little Knut from the beginning when he bottle fed him and played Elvis Presley's songs for him. Thomas died of a heart attack in 2008. Knut was kept with his mother - Tosca and two other females - Nancy and Katjuscha later on.

He never really had any romantic relationships with them. In fact, there were cases of violent maulings when Katjuscha once tried to bite him.

Anyhow, Knut was rather young to have died. He seemed very cute in all his pics! I wish I could have seen him live. The Berlin Zoo will miss him dearly looking at the way they took care of him, he seemed like a real favorite.

FB users should sign contract not to show animal snuff media

There is an appalling large amount of users posting videos/media depicting animal torture and snuff for purulent purposes lacking serious political, educational or artistic merit with completely malicious intent. Please be aware this is in violation of Federal law signed by President Obama on 11 December 2010.

MALICIOUS animal torture/snuff (not restricted to "crush") media Contributes to the Delinquency of Minors in violation of laws in ALL 50 States, incites future violent criminals and serial killers (per FBI profiling this is fact), is NOT conducive to the mental hygiene of a nation, therefore IS OBSCENE MATERIAL.

Please urge users to be compliant by having them electronically sign a contract that they agree not to show such animal torture/snuff media on Facebook, or you all will report such abusers to authorities.

These are some of the clauses of ‘Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010’.

Each of the several States and the District of Columbia criminalize intentional acts of extreme animal cruelty, such as the intentional crushing, burning, drowning, suffocating, or impaling of animals for no socially redeeming purpose.

There are certain extreme acts of animal cruelty that appeal to a specific sexual fetish. These acts of extreme animal cruelty are videotaped, and the resulting video tapes are commonly referred to as ‘animal crush videos’.

Sec. 48. Animal crush videos

‘(a) Definition- In this section the term ‘animal crush video’ means any photograph, motion-picture film, video or digital recording, or electronic image that--

‘(1) depicts actual conduct in which 1 or more living non-human mammals, birds, reptiles, or amphibians is intentionally crushed, burned, drowned, suffocated, impaled, or otherwise subjected to serious bodily injury (as defined in section 1365 and including conduct that, if committed against a person and in the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States, would violate section 2241 or 2242);
