Shut Down Kiev Zoo For Inhumane Treatment Of Animals

Kiev Zoo in Ukraine is being criticized for an irresponsible treatment of zoo animals by critics from all over the world. Kiev Zoo is almost a century old and for the longest time it was praised but in the past two years something has definitely gone wrong.

The old managers were replaced also and the new management is extremely corrupt who are illegally selling off the zoo animals. Of ten the purchased animals never arrive at the zoo. In fact, the money given to buy food and medicine for animals has disappeared many times too.

There have been too many animal deaths in the last one year, including an Indian elephant named Boy who just collapsed and died in his enclosure. It is said that Boy's diet was changed extremely and it ultimately caused his heart failure.

Similarly, a camel died of a digestive illness and a zebra crashed into a metal fence and died. The animals seem to die mysteriously or disappear suddenly. In December, fish died in a tank because of power outage that ended up cutting the oxygen.

The management is so corrupt that it is difficult to keep track of their illegal deals that in turn all this is hurting the animals at the zoo. They want to kill or sell the animals so that they can ultimately sell the land.

Amazingly, almost 300 to 500 animals have died at the zoo in the past two and half years and till the zoo is closed down, animal lovers are worried that we will only witness more animal deaths in the following years.

Please spread the word around and protest in your own way for the safety of the animals in Kiev Zoo who are left in the hands of a selfish management.

Stop the mass killing in the Ukraine, Kharkov

We the undersigned are calling all government representatives to influence the situation in Kharkov and the whole country. We mean the problem of stray animals number regulation and coexistence of animals and humans.

Only these steps will help decrease the number of strays:

- Neutering of stray animals
- Vaccinating homeless animals
- Educating pet owners about necessity of neutering their pets
- Creating shelters for animals
- Discontinuance of poisoning stray animals

According to present legislation poisoning is a direct violation of Ukrainian law.

A society is judged by its treatment of the weak that is of the disabled, children and animals. Scientists proved that animal intercourse have a wholesome and even healing effect on human. And on the contrary when people unreasonably kill animals, often in front of children, it results in irresponsibility and cruelty.
