Stop Canada's Cruel Seal Hunt

Although many of us have already signed the petition against the cruel baby seal hunting but we are still short of target. As per Care2, there are over 150,000 signatures already but we need to get more people to sign up against this animal cruelty.

We need your help to reach the goal of 175,000 signatures and show the Canadian Prime Minister that people won't stand for the slaughter of 400,000 baby seals.

Not only has Prime Minister Harper refused to stop the seal hunt, he's actually pushing seal products on countries that have banned them. It doesn't make sense -- not economically or ethically.

There is no economic, scientific, or ethical argument that can support the shooting, clubbing, and skinning of defenseless seal pups. People around the world have the right to refuse these cruel and unethical products. Prime Minister Stephen Harper needs to know he can't push seal products on countries that don't want them.

Help the Seal Pups - Boycott Canadian Seafood

Hundreds of thousands of baby seals are in danger of slaughter here on the ice floes off Canada's east coast just weeks from now. As you can see the seal hunting process is cruel and insane, we cannot just watch it while these beautiful angels suffer like this!

It’s the largest slaughter of marine mammals on the planet, and the Canadian government has sanctioned even more killing this year.

We want you to boycott Canadian seafood. Why? Because the boycott works. Canadian fishermen kill baby seals for their fur during the off-season. They earn only a tiny fraction of their annual incomes from killing seals -- most of their wages come from fisheries like snow crab.

In the past six years, hundreds of thousands of people around the world have pledged to not buy Canadian seafood -- like snow crab -- and the industry’s bottom line has taken a nose dive.

It’s up to you and me and every conscientious, humane person out there to send the Canadian fishing industry a message they can’t ignore: Stop killing defenseless seal pups, or we won't buy your seafood.
