Rabbits In China Are Not Celebrating The New Year

This post is just in addition to the previous post related to The Chinese Year and this means that it is The Year of The Rabbit. But because millions of rabbits suffer in the name of fashion in Chinese fur farms, we animal lovers can't really celebrate this year and call it The Year of Rabbits because the rabbits in China are suffering quite a lot.

These gentle animals spend nearly their entire lives crammed in filthy wire cages that are so small the animals are often unable to move more than a few tiny steps. They are born and raised to die at the hands of workers who kill them using methods — such as neck-breaking, suffocation, poisoning, and electrocution — that keep the rabbits' skin intact so that it can be sold. The skin of rabbits who are not fortunate enough to die instantly is often ripped from their bodies while they are still conscious.

We hope authoritative figures who can make a difference will see how cruel this entire process is and also un-necessary so to say. We can only hope and pray that this year brings something better for the rabbits.

PETA Campaign: Fur? I'd Rather Go Naked

Taraji Henson is yet another celebrity who opts on proudly saying that she'd rather go naked than wear fur and this is why you can see her in the PETA campaign ad above supporting the cause.

We have read so many stories and signed various petitions that cruelty towards animals should be stopped. Many of the luxury products, accessories and much more that are so no necessary to survive in life are made by skinning innocent and beautiful animals alive just so that the animal fur stays in good condition. We can't imagine the pain of the animal, which is being skinned alive and then eventually die. It is a horrible process and most of the pictures are so graphic everybody can't even watch them

Anyway, this is what Taraji said about this particular campaign:

“When I realized what went into – we’re not just even talking about a full-length fur coat, I’m talking about just … fur on your gloves or on your jacket – what goes into making that little piece of fur ripped my heart out,” said the actress. “And as humans, we have control. What if someone said, ‘Black skin is the new fur?”
