Lucy is a 39 year old cat. Although she has a bit of trouble getting up in the morning & she has also gone deaf, but over all, she’s doing much better. In fact, she doesn’t even look 39. At the clinic I have seen cats who are much younger than Lucy & they still look very old.
Her owner Bill Thomas said Lucy was born in South Wales in 1972. “We have spoken to other people who can verify seeing her in the fish and chip shop in the early seventies,” he said. While a vet could not confirm Lucy's exact age, Thomas said the doc was amazed by the cat's long life, estimating her to be a whopping 172 in human years.
Her name ought to be in the Guinness, but it hasn’t been ascertained if she is the oldest cat.
